1. OUR NEWS

Another exciting month – it just gets better.

We had a chance to present at PestBiz – the annual pest control conference organised by SAPCA. It was really great to learn more about the industry. I look forward to a long and fruitful association.

The highlight of the month was undoubtedly IUFOST – this international food science and technology conference was a ground breaking event for The Food Safety Network. We had an exhibition stand as you can see. It was great to meet so many of our users and advertisers and hear the great feedback. There was a huge contingent of overseas visitors too.

The interest from other countries was also very encouraging. We look forward to assisting users from other African countries in the future and linking to some international sites to provide you with more information.

The event also gave us a chance to showcase our advertisers if you couldn't make it.

5. FOOD SAFETY TIPS!!

There are several...based on this month:

• Mycotoxins are a more serious problem that we give credit to.
  
  Based on the extent of the egg recall in the USA, eat your eggs well done.
• Set up your food safety system to meet your company’s requirements – you can cross reference to 5 customer requirements
  (if you have to) in one system but it must work for you.
• Educate your family on food safety. Take food safety home.
  In chatting to people that are not in the industry this week it was scary to see how little the average consumer knows.
• Attend conferences, join SAAFoST and network with people who are experts. That way we can get answers to the burning food safety issues
